FOLD Ireland’s Housing-with-Care schemes Anam Cara and Cherryfields have been granted registration with the Health Information and Quality Authority.
The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is the independent Authority established to drive high quality and safe care for people using health and social services in Ireland. These standards are a key component in ensuring the quality and safety of residential care for our older population in the years to come.
FOLD Ireland’s Director of Care Services Fiona McAnespie said, “The registration with HIQA is the result of months of hard work, dedication and commitment of our carers, senior care staff and care managers across both Anam Cara and Cherryfields. We have proved that the service we provide to all our residents deserved registration from the highest authority in Ireland. It has been a real team effort.
She added, “We must also acknowledge the professionalism and support we got from both HSE and HIQA teams who guided us through the process. The standards provide a baseline for our schemes for providing quality care, continuity and stability to the lives of those in our care as well as very clear guidelines for residents, their families and representatives as to the rights of a resident living in a residential care setting.
“At FOLD Ireland, we believe that every resident should expect to live as full and as independent a life as possible and to direct, with us, their own care – a view we share with HIQA.”
